Parish Boundary walk: looking for a sign...

rules…lines…boundaries… so many of these signs seem to be telling us NOT to do things.

Others don’t give quite the message that was intended.

Some are quite pretty, subversive, or inventive.

I’ve been researching a new church noticeboard. What kind of “sign” is this?  What kind of signs do we have INSIDE the church?  Organising noticeboards is rather a frustrating job. TOO MUCH INFORMATION.  The Arch Project seems to be helping us to clear out and clear up, certainly at the moment with decorating going on.  A lot of rubbish has been cleared since Steve and Simon came!  I look forward to seeing the new ways in which we fill, re-create and enjoy our building!  Especially looking for signs, and considering the messages they give…

Back from holiday and great to read what has been added and to see the wonderful images - what a nice homecoming!
Signs and symbols are such powerful and I think underestimated aspect of our environments ... very thought provoking. made me think about how we navigate spaces - interior and exterior and how we are made to feel and react .... and what we are able to understand (or not) by them.
Thank you x
